Hurricanes twice lose out to Clones' new cyclones

August 7, 2020

An out of this world start for the Comets continued last weekend with and fantastic win against the Hurricanes who traveled from Dublin to Clones for the double header.

Game one saw the Comets come out of the blocks early taking a four run lead which they later extended to eight before the Hurricanes staged a fantastic comeback at the top of the seventh inning.

A home run from Forrest Pierce and a strong pitching performance from debutant  to the mound Mitch Clapp had helped the Comets on their way.

Comets give Spartans' Bs a hard lesson in Peace Links war of attrition

July 25, 2020

On a glorious Saturday in Shankill the Mariners went to battle with the Comets in what seems to have been the best encounter in the B division this season so far, with 38 runs scored the game was a nail bitter from start to finish.

The Comets were unbeaten going into this with their 3 wins coming from home fixtures.

The addition of players like South African Andy Croft have made the Comets a completely different prospect with the team having a much stronger shape in the infield.

In what was a hard weekend of baseball for the Spartans, the B's had a tough opener to the season going down 13-3 to the Cavan Comets.

Their long trip up to the Peace Links didn’t bear fruit but it did however feature some defensive gems by Danni Scanlon and Craig Bradley in their league debuts.

Both teams swang well at bat with Cavan getting a few breaks that let them edge ahead and keep their lead.
